STRETCHING THE HELPING HANDS DURING COVID-19 – CARE India

The entire nation of India is in stagnation during this pandemic. It is now the time, more than ever, to show compassion and love to everyone. Many NGOs like CARE India are taking the giant step to provide support and essentials to everyone. They have frontline heroes who deliver essentials to people in need, raise awareness, offer technical support, and even make sure that no one is stranded.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation – Bihar

CARE India is now partnering with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. It is working with a team of 1500 staff members, who are currently engaging in contact tracing, infection control, hospital staffing, monitoring, and so on. In places where critical help is essential, they even offer health providers and medical facilities. A part of the frontline workers is currently focusing on spreading awareness to Bihar communities about preventive measures, hygiene acts, and the treatment available for the infected. They are creating bridges between communities and the treatment services, allowing numerous individuals to come forward for testing.

CARE USA and Coca Cola

CARE India is partnering with CARE USA and Coca Cola to provide essentials and food to more than 1.5 lakh people. CARE India targets daily wage earners, migrants, waste pickers, and HIV patients, who will otherwise end up starving until lockdown ends. They are focusing on Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh.

Mars

Mars and CARE India are joining together in Uttar Pradesh to help more than 25 thousand mint farmers in Barabanki and Lucknow. The team offers dry rations, cash grants, soft loans for women farmers, protective equipment, and others.

BNP Paribas

CARE India and BNP Paribas are joining in Chennai and Mumbai to offer dry ration to 40 thousand people. The main goal of this partnership is to provide food security to the migrant population and vulnerable small communities.

Wipro

Wipro Foundation is helping CARE India to provide dry ration kits to 3000 families in Mumbai and 2000 in Pune. They offered free PPE kits to more than 2000 Mumbai healthcare workers and 1000 in Pune.

Great Wall Motors

GWM and CARE India are focusing in Pune and Delhi. They are serving dry ration for 5500 people and starting their service in Gurgaon too.

CARE India COVID-19 response

The team with 1400 and more members is helping India to stand against COVID. The organization helps in testing infrastructure, delivery facilities, communication support, education programs, and others. They are working in 14 different states offering a quick response.

They are also distributing protective gear to frontline health workers, offering help in infection control, sharing orientation videos, and safety messages. CARE India conducts an on-going service to raise awareness among small communities, villages, and others via public announcement systems, online media, phones, and others.

Last but not least, we need the patience to get out of this pandemic. Those who depend on their daily wages or small scale businesses do not have the luxury to do so without financial aid. CARE India is offering benefit transfers, dry rations, and other financial aids to economically struggling households.
