Help Healthcare Workers and Hospitals
With the country’s healthcare infrastructure overwhelmed, frontline healthcare workers, are at the highest risk of COVID-19. United Way Mumbai has been empowering these workers by providing them with PPE kits, medical equipment, and other services to better serve their patients.
Spread Awareness Among People
There’s a lot of chaos and misinformation in India when it comes to COVID-19. This misinformation can adversely affect the country’s fight against the pandemic. United Way Mumbai has taken the initiative to spread awareness about COVID-19, appropriate behavior, and vaccinations, especially among low-income communities.
Facilitate Vaccinations
The WHO has stated that vaccination is the only feasible solution against COVID-19. However, in a country with a population of 1.36 billion, vaccinating everyone is challenging. Moreover, many people, especially from low-income communities, don’t know how to avail of vaccination. United Way Mumbai’s team is assisting people, mainly middle-aged and older adults, to get vaccinated.
